Sunrise Mvmt Pittsburgh is thrilled to endorse Kellianne Frketic for County Council District 9. As a lifelong resident of the Mon Valley and single mother, Kellianne Frketic has experienced firsthand the impacts of environmental and economic injustice. We know from her longtime advocacy work and her zeal for justice that she will make a great County Council member.
Sunrise Mvmt Pittsburgh is proud to endorse Nicole Zelen for West Deer Township District 1. She is a strong grassroots advocate protecting and learning from her community. Zelen understands the public health threats caused by fracking and aims to ensure transparency in her local government. We believe that her passion to protect her neighbors will make her a great Township supervisor.
We’re proud to support Summer Lee, one of the few Congressmembers with a spine. She is not afraid to stand up to the fossil fuel industry or to the pro-war lobby. Summer Lee fights against these destructive industries on behalf of ordinary people. She has earned your vote in 2024.
In her time in the State House, Rep. Innamorato has fought for clean air and water for working families. She would bring moral clarity to an office that has the power to help over a million residents. She is the best choice for County Executive.
Councilmember Hallam has used her position on County Council to speak truth to power. She is the leading voice for fixing the problems with our County Jail, and she has won concrete victories in the fight for clean air and water for our region. She has earned a second term.
Educated as a petroleum engineer, when Grzybek realized what it would entail, he walked away from a fossil fuel paycheck and became an outspoken advocate for clean air and water. Since then he's spearheaded our successful effort to ban fracking in County parks. He will make an excellent Councilmember.
Councilmember Gross shares our vision of a Pittsburgh that serves the needs of residents, rather than large corporations. As our region deals with an air quality crisis, it is important that we re-elect the few public servants we have who are doing their jobs.
Councilmember Warwick has been a reliable voice for active transportation and clean energy projects in her short time on Pittsburgh City Council. Voters should send her back to continue the work she's started.
We're proud to endorse La’Tasha D. Mayes for State House in District 24! La'Tasha has an impressive depth of knowledge of environmental justice policy and a strong moral compass— both of which align with our Sunrise values. The working people of District 24 deserve her as their representative.
To earn our endorsement, a candidate must clear a high threshold. Our endorsees are genuine climate and social justice champions. But, since every voter is going to have to make decisions about some elections in which we have made no endorsement, we have put together this voter guide with advice to voters about each race and resources.
